Thanks For Coming Out!

Saturday, December 6th, 2008

Wow, what an amazing response we received last night at Milkboy Coffee in Ardmore - it was a pleasure to be there with Todd Marrone and Emmett DeMuziom and DJ Lightborn and his fantastic new show “Jazz Tactics”.

Thanks to all who were able to make it out! We’re now taking a hiatus until January, at which point we’ll be working hard on new music to make sure that the next time we hit the stage we’ll have a bunch of new music for you. Thanks for welcoming us back!

Thanks for Coming to Milkboy! PLUS, Show Announcement for 10/4

Sunday, August 24th, 2008

Thanks to all who came out to Milkboy in Ardmore on Friday - we had a lot of fun, and were glad to be sharing the bill with The Bridge Band, who it is safe to say blew us all away with their songwriting and musicianship - great stuff!

We’ve actually just announced one final Hulihees show - it looks like we’re going to be lucky enough to have Ron until mid October, so our 10/4 show at Burlap & Bean will be the final send-off! If things change, I’ll still be playing there in some capacity, be it MATTOWAX or one of the other projects a brewin’…so, keep it in mind! More to come as the details are finalized. Be well!

Thanks For Coming Out on Saturday!

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

We had a great nigt on Saturday with the debut live performance of MATTOWAX and an acoustic set by The Hulihees - thanks again to all who came out to the show on that hot and sticky night…it actually made us break the “no shorts on stage” rule!

North Star Show Recap

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

You know, for a Sunday night in an out-of-the-way part of town, we had a really good evening on 5/4. Kicked off with an outdoor band dinner at Bishop’s Collar and followed by a set by the very interesting Little Ruth Busey, the Hulihees took the stage for a modest but enthusiastic Sunday night crowd - and then stuck around for an amazing set by Atlanta’s Gringo Star (HIGHLY recommended!) and local heroes Long Walk Home, who we played with last Fall at the Tritone (sharing an impromtu jam on Frank Zappa’s “Camarillo Brillo”). More pics are available on the Hulihees site, but a full-band shot can be seen below. Our next show will be a stripped-down affair at Milkboy Coffee’s newest location in Bryn Mawr on June 7th for the “Artstravaganza”…more details to follow in another post. See you there!

Hulihees Lineup Change; Post-Grape Recap

Monday, September 24th, 2007

Yep, after a killer set at the Grape Street in Philadelphia, Michelle Fiore announced that she’s leaving the band to move to Arizona with new hubby Joe. The band will certainly carry on, though we’ll need to rethink things a bit since Michelle was such an integral part of the sound and spirit of the band. Still, we did have a great night and expect to be booking more shows in the near future with various smaller combos of the band as Brian and Todd prepare for fatherhood.

Stay tuned for more news on that front…in the meantime, myself and the band wish her all the best - and I’m quite sure we’ll be seeing her pop up at shows around holiday times when she’s back in town. You haven’t seen the last of her!

We did, however, have a “Last Supper” of sorts at the Manayunk Diner immediately following the show - a picture of the event is captured below for your viewing pleasure (and yes, Ron did actually wear that outfit for the show), complete with “fading-away” Michelle:
